5 WAYS TO PRACTICE BODY-MIND-SOUL CONNECTION
You have probably heard about the connection between out physical body with our mind & soul.
It is a strong connection and one cannot exist without the other.
It is important to take the time to go inwards and build this connection for our wellbeing.
Here, I share 5 ways to practice this connection and begin the journey within:
Moving the body. If we can see the body as a container of emotions that need to be moved to avoid getting stagnant, we can see exercise as an act of love and presence. When we are present while exercising, we can listen to the body and keep it healthy following its needs.
Journaling. The practice of writing/journaling keeps us in the here and now. Materializing on paper the ideas, emotions or beliefs that pass through our mind. Allowing our body to understand what is happening, in order to transcend it if necessary.
Connect with nature. Connecting with nature is a practice that has many benefits for physical, mental and emotional health. You can connect using all your senses: smelling the flowers or the wet earth, hugging a tree or feeling the sand, watching an ant or the birds fly, tasting a herb or eating a fruit, listening to the birds sing or the ocean waves.
Schedule time with nature. With just half an hour a day, at least 4 days a week, you can improve your mood, reduce your stress levels & improve your immune system.
Conscious breathing. This is a practice that EVERYONE must do every day. Observing the breathing process brings us back to the present. Inhale deeply, aware that your lungs fill with air, your blood oxygenates, and your body relaxes. Exhale, aware that you are releasing what is not needed. Repeat as many times as you want.
Meditation. A meditative state is being in the here and now. It’s not just to sit quietly with your eyes closed. A meditative state is also to feel that inner peace and from there be able to observe what it is.
